EPA PAH16 (Tar) testing is a method used to measure the levels of certain chemicals called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in a sample. PAHs are a group of chemicals that are often found in tar, which is a thick, dark substance that is produced when organic materials are burned. PAHs can be harmful to human health, so it is important to measure their levels in the environment and in products that people use. EPA PAH16 testing specifically measures the levels of 16 different PAHs that are known to be harmful to human health. This testing is often used to assess the safety of products and materials, such as asphalt, coal tar sealants, and soil, as well as to monitor environmental contamination.
